Saudi National Day is one of the most important public holidays in Saudi Arabia. The whole country celebrates, and in Jeddah the occasion calls for something spectacular — a full night festival of light that stops people in their tracks and stays in their memory.
We were there. And what a night it was.
LED Dancers at 230 Meters #
The highlight of our involvement — and honestly one of the more extraordinary things we’ve done — was performing with our LED dancers on the helipad of a skyscraper, 230 meters above the city.
Think about that for a second. A rooftop helipad at the top of a high-rise building in Jeddah, with the full city spread out below, and our performers in full LED suits dancing as a visual advertisement for the evening’s festival. People on the streets far below could look up and see light moving at the top of the building. The effect from ground level was surreal.
LED dancer suits are one of those installations that can’t be replicated with conventional stage lighting. Every surface of the performer’s body becomes a dynamic pixel canvas — running effects, color transitions, synchronized patterns — all controlled wirelessly. For a public spectacle at this scale, they’re genuinely in a class of their own.
500 Meters of Digital LED Strip on the City Gates #
Our second major installation at the festival was covering the famous gates of Jeddah with digital LED strip. We ran approximately 500 meters of addressable LED strip along the architecture of the gates — wrapping the structures in programmable light that could run effects, color sequences, and full animated shows.
Installing 500 meters of outdoor LED pixel installation in 40°C heat is exactly as pleasant as it sounds. We worked mainly at night to avoid the worst of the temperature — not just for the crew’s comfort, but because the electronics and strip adhesives perform better below 40°C. Daytime installation in direct Middle East sun is a fast way to create problems.
The gate installation was synchronized to music using the timeline feature in LED Strip Studio software. The timeline editor lets you place lighting cues precisely against a music track — specific effects trigger on specific beats, transitions follow the song structure, and the whole light show plays back in perfect sync with the audio. For a national day celebration where the emotional impact of the light-and-music combination is the whole point, this level of control makes a real difference.
Laser Show #
As part of the broader festival, we also handled a laser show — one of several installations we managed across the event. Running parallel light installations at a major outdoor festival requires solid logistics and a team that can switch between very different technologies without losing focus on any of them.
Working in 40°C Heat #
A quick word on the conditions: outdoor LED installations for events in the Arabian Gulf in September mean heat that genuinely affects how you work. Everything from cable behavior to controller ventilation to how long your crew can work without a break changes when you’re at 40°C.
Our approach: work nights, pre-test everything before it goes up, keep controller enclosures ventilated and out of direct sun where possible, and use IP67-rated LED strip for the gate runs where moisture from condensation can still be an issue even in hot climates. Preparation is everything.

Events like this are the best argument for what LED pixel technology can do. Key practices for hot-climate outdoor LED pixel installations: work at night when temperatures are lower, use IP67-rated LED strip for weatherproofing (condensation happens even in dry climates), keep controllers shaded and ventilated, and use high-temperature-rated adhesive backing or mechanical mounting rather than relying on standard 3M tape that softens above 40°C. Pre-testing all equipment in the actual conditions before the event day is essential — heat affects everything from connector reliability to power supply output.
How much digital LED strip does a large gate or facade installation need?
It depends entirely on the size of the structure and the effect you want. The Jeddah gate installation used approximately 500 meters of digital LED strip to cover the architecture.
